16-year-old boy shot and killed in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood, police say


CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot and killed in the Tremont neighborhood on Wednesday, police say.

Arthur M. McKeller of Cleveland Heights was fatally shot around 4:25 p.m. He was found lying in the grass near a residence in the 1700 block of Clark Avenue, according to police and the County Medical Examiner’s Office. Cuyahoga. The teenager suffered several gunshot wounds to the body.

Paramedics transferred him to MetroHealth, where he later died. Detectives from the city’s homicide unit investigate.

Police say Arthur and a friend were sitting on a porch in the 3100 block of Scranton Avenue when an unknown person approached them and began shooting. Arthur and his friend ran until he collapsed at the Clark Avenue home, police said.

No other injuries were reported. Police have not made any arrests or identified any suspects involved in the shooting.

The shooting comes a day after the city witnessed three separate fatal shootings in a single day. As of Thursday, the city reported at least 96 homicides that have taken place this year, according to detectives and the medical examiner’s office.
