Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz today announced the winners of the annual Toledo Neighborhood Beautification Competition at a press conference in front of Boyd’s Retro Candy Shop, winner of the competition in the business category.
“Each of these people understands that just because you can’t do everything doesn’t mean you don’t have to do anything,” Mayor Kapszukiewicz said. “By taking one small step each day in our own life, we can create the city we want to have.”
The contest, sponsored by the City of Toledo and Keep Toledo-Lucas County Beautiful, was designed to encourage and promote community participation in order to make Toledo a great place to live, work and play. We received over 40 contest entries and the winners were selected by a team of 7 community members and municipal staff.
