FROM THE FAMOUS RENARD: THE COMMUNITY MEETS THE “CORAL” AT A COFFEE

Hi friends! Recide the fox here with your weekly “Reef’s Report”.

It’s Thanksgiving Day, and boy, oh boy, I have much to be thankful for this year. Above all, I am grateful to be alive. Thanks to my human mother, Nicole, who flew to Minnesota in May to save me after being pulled from a fur farm just 10 days old. I’m thankful that my little sister, Coral, was rescued a month later and mom brought her home in July to live with me. I am grateful that the four adult foxes who live here are happy and healthy. We are all respected for the individual we are and live a life that most furry farm animals will never experience.

On that note, I thank all of the companies that have decided to ban the use of real fur in their products this year. The list goes on, but a few are Canada Goose, Neiman Marcus, and Yves Saint Laurent. And get this: The town of Hallandale Beach in Florida passed an ordinance on Nov. 17 banning the sale of fur, effective immediately. They are the first city in the state of Florida to pass a fur ban, so now I’m wondering, who will be next in Sunshine State?

We are truly grateful to live in a county where we don’t see any fur, but wouldn’t it be cool if our county commissioners passed a fur ban that banned the sale, just in case?

So if anyone is reading this and wants to pass it on to our county officials, have their people call mine. I would be happy to meet with representatives from our local government to share my story and how the protection of all furbearing animals is so important.

To recap last weekend, Coffee With Coral at One Grind KL was a huge success! So many amazing people came to meet Coral and find out more about us! Even some of our Upper Keys MPs stopped. They might have thought K9 Coral was going to be there, but they were definitely surprised when it came to Fox Coral. Maybe K9 Coral will join the next “Coffee With Coral” event next month? I’m going to have to call him, I have his number because I’m important like that.

Anyway, that’s it for this week. Happy Thanksgiving; Thank you all too!
