Outre-Rhin received a fairly complementary call in a Harper’s Bazaar article published on April 14.

“Brooklyn wishes it was as cool as Over-the-Rhine under the radar,” reads the first line of Harper’s Bazaardescription of the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood of Cincinnati.

In Harper’s BazaarIn his article, “A sublime road trip through the heart of the Midwest,” journalist Brandon Presser details the highlights of a Midwest road trip that included stops in Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Chicago, Minneapolis and other iconic cities in the Heartland.

Presser praised Over-the-Rhine’s “conglomeration of posh restaurants, home furnishing boutiques and European-style carriage houses”. In the article, Presser specifically mentioned Over-the-Rhine’s LOSANTI, a modern steakhouse owned by married couple Anthony and Haley Sitek. The couple also own downtown spots Crown Republic, Rosie’s Cocktails & Pies and La Cantina.

Located steps from Washington Park, LOSANTI serves staples like prime filet mignon, as well as pasta dishes, salads, sides, and a long list of craft cocktails.

the Harper’s Bazaar the article also named several other establishments across the Rhine, including Pepp & Dolores, an Italian restaurant offering homemade pasta dishes like cacio e pepe; Somerset, a vegetal new take on the Over-the-Rhine bar scene; Brown Bear Bakery, a destination known for its delicious baked goods with creative flavors; and Pho Lang Thang, a Vietnamese restaurant near Findlay Market.

During his jaunt across the Rhine, Presser stayed at the 21c Museum Hotel in the city center. Housed in the century-old Hotel Metropole, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, 21c has been reimagined as a 156-room contemporary art museum and boutique hotel with some of the historic flourishes intact (like the tiled floor of the entrance). The space is also home to the Metropole restaurant and an ultra-hip seasonal rooftop terrace.
