PREBLE COUNTY – The Preble County Park District has announced the appointment of Kaylee Jo Lebo as Park District Commissioner, effective June 3.
Preble County Probate Court Judge Jenifer K. Overmyer made the appointment to replace former commissioner Thomas McQuiston who retired in May after 17 years of service. She joins Steve Simmons and Jeff Sewert as curator.
Lebo holds an MBA from the University of Dayton and a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Currently, she is the Preble County 4-H Advisor. She has been the Operations Manager for 13 years at Protective Coatings Inc., a general construction contractor in Dayton. Lebo was also a member of the Bullen Equestrian Center project committee. She is currently working on an initiative for preschool education in Preble County.
The Lebo family farm is located in Lewisburg. Her husband, Cody Lebo and two sons, Kendall and Corbin support her. Together they enjoy showing off horses, camping, hiking and everything outdoors.
Kaylee loves living in Preble County. She looks forward to serving as Preble County Park District Commissioner. “When I was a child, nature was always in my heart and I had a huge passion for it then,” she said. “My career took me somewhere else but I believe God planted that seed in my heart then. I look forward to honoring that by serving the Preble County Park District.
“The Preble County Park District is pleased to have Kaylee Jo Lebo with us and we look forward to the future success of our parks, the Allen and Adeline Garber Nature Center in Lewisburg and the Devil’s Backbone in Camden,” said PCPD officials in a press. released last week.
The Preble County Park District is currently developing its second Preble County Park in Devil’s Backbone, located west of Camden on Ohio 725. Trail work is nearing completion with two hiking trails spanning the entire property. Herbert and Patricia Wagers donated the Devil’s Backbone property. Their son, Herb Wagers continues to participate in the development of the park in honor of his parents.
The Preble County Park District Board meets the first Friday of each month at 9 a.m. at the Eaton City Municipal Building, 328 N. Maple St., Eaton. The next meeting will be July 1. The public is invited to attend.
