The neighborhood deserves a savvy rep like Jan Materni – BG Independent News

As a member of the Bowling Green City Council, I frequently meet and hear from people in our community. Although my goal has always been to improve our community in Bowling Green, neighborhood concerns about our state government inevitably arise.

“Why Can’t Ohio Pass Fair Maps?”

“Why does our state legislature pass covert laws that our state’s Fraternal Order of Police opposes?”

“What are Ohio lawmakers doing to fight inflation?”

These are just a few questions that our state representative could answer for us, should he ever show up.

Earlier in October, the League of Women Voters held its highly anticipated Candidates Forum. This tradition is a great opportunity for voters to hear directly from individuals who wish to legislate for them. Unfortunately, our community did not have such an opportunity – our state representative declined to attend.

Our district deserves a representative who actually shows up. A representative like Jan Materni.

Jan is currently a member of the Perrysburg City Council and I have seen firsthand the work she has done to bring about meaningful improvements throughout Wood County. I’ve seen her run not just for Republicans or Democrats, but for all of her constituents.

Jan is a sensible candidate who is not afraid to answer difficult questions. She will be a voice for ALL of Wood County. I will be voting for Jan Materni on Tuesday 8 November and I urge you to do the same.
